Overseen by the Finance Institute, the purpose of the Finance department is to produce and disseminate quality research in key areas of finance and accounting. The research topics of the department cover a wide range of themes, including risk management, risk regulation, market efficiency, market microstructures, corporate failures, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, small and medium enterprises, and performance measurement.
Researchers of the Institute have published in high impact journals such as Management Science, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, European Journal of Operational Research, Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, Journal of Financial Intermediation, British Journal of Management, or the Journal of Corporate Finance.
The department regularly organizes research seminars, as well as workshops and conferences at national and international levels. It is also one of the beneficiaries of funding by the PANORisk regional research project on financial risks, and contributes to the Banques Populaires Chair on financial vulnerability.
